I plan to start applying to nursing schools soon and Jeff State was one of my top choices. After looking into their program for a bit, I noticed really low grad rates, and people talking about them being under review and trying to avoid probation. This makes me nervous...anybody know anything about that? Also, which campus is better, the Jefferson or Shelby Hoover campus? They are both the same distance away from where I live. Any info would help...thanks!!

I haven't heard anything about them being under review. It is very very hard. So a lot of people drop out along the way. I go to the Jefferson campus and I love it. I love all my teachers, they're great. If you want to know anything else just let me know!
Thanks, I plan to apply for Summer '11 (I still want to get more classes out of the way b/c I want to transfer to UAB after I get my ADN.) I know they require the TEAS V test now before you can even apply, so I want to study for that too. Pre-nursing is tough too...our classes for the sciences start out with a ton of people and usually end up with about 6 per class. I've got an A, but I think everyone in my current Anat II class is failing...praying for them!! Thanks!!

Nursing classes and science classes are two totally diffrent aniamals, Just sayn.....
Um, we were just talking about the difficulties and the high drop out rate. I was just stating that there were alot of people dropping out of the science classes as well. I know that they are both difficult and different...I wasn't being obnoxious or anything, if that's how you took it. I know what I'm getting in to:)

I'm so confused. I heard the Shelby Campus was better but I think I was reading an old post. As of 2010 which campus do y'all think is better? or has the higher pass rate for nursing board exam?

I'm not sure, but I'm at the Shelby campus part-time program and I love it!!
That's great to hear! I am leaning towards that Campus. Thanks so much!
Does Jeff State (or any school for that matter), offer nursing entirely in the afternoon? I keep looking at their schedule and I see that they have a few classes offered in the afternoon, but some you will still have to take in the daytime. I want to go full time and I keep hearing people talking about the night classes...
The night/evening classes refers to the part-time program the times are usually 5:30-8:30pm. The full-time program classes are during the day and I do believe that some classes are in the afternoon.
