Hello everyone. So since there isn't one so far I'll start a thread for the fall applicants. Post your scores, campus and if your applying for full time or part time
Hey guys, I've been creeping on this thread for months looking for updates as I've also applied for fall 2017. Just like you all, I've been trying to figure out the cutoffâ€. Apprently Wallaces cut off was 37 or 38 which makes me nervous. The only thing that gives me hope are the people who I've talked to and the information I've been provided about the new curriculum this fall. It looks like Jeff state will be accepting more applicants this semester with the implimintaion of the new curriculum (all book are online with a one time fee for all 5 semesters...around $1,800 for books. & classes are supposed to be more hands onâ€. Also, a lot of information is being cut down so we just have to learn what we need to know for nursing exams and the nclex. I think the unnecessary information is why Jeff States program has a low completion rate). I'm taking microbiology this summer and the people in my class either have 40+ points or barely 30...then you have me who sits at 35. Even people who I had A&P 2 with in the spring were barely able to apply because of their act scores. In addition, people in micro class have C's in classes like math and English and are still applying. This, and the apparent expansion of the program are the only things that give me hope. The point system is stupid in my opinion. Most people are going to have around the same points unless you score well on the ACT. I pray there isn't a cut off, rather a algorithm that determines who gets accepted based on points and GPA.
(I know all of this information because my sister is in 3rd semester this summer (full-time) and everything has been EXTREMELY unorganized as they prepare for this new curriculum. Her study partner didn't pass last semester and her mom demanded a meeting with the department and they revealed that the new curriculum if favored by the professors because of the simplicity and more people are expected to complete the program)
Last thing, when my sister got accepted fall of 2016 they sent out letters 6/17 (a Friday) so I think emails will be sent this Friday (6/16). Registration for fall opens on the 26th so letters HAVE to be sent by then.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to give you guys some inside info í ½í¸Š I'm praying that we all get accepted. But remember, if we don't, there was no summer semester which means double the applicants which in turn makes it more competitive. I know we all want to start in the fall, but if we don't, there always spring and summer! And who REALLY wants to be a guinne pig for a new curriculum? If you don't get accepted, you won't be the first and you definitely won't be the last. Stay positive! We will get there. I'm praying for all of us!
