Jeff State Fall 2012

U.S.A. Alabama

I noticed there were threads for the other semesters, so I thought I would get this one started. There's another week until the deadline, but I've finished everything I can do. Now it's just waiting.

I'm hoping to start the fall semester at the Jefferson campus. If I did the calculations correctly, I have 205 points on the checklist. Good luck everyone; I hope to see you this fall.

To those of you who have already submitted the background check, did you have to fill out all of the requirements? Because some of this stuff I have no idea about!

According to the email that I received from the Executive Secretary, only the background check information is required for submission. I had no idea on the specific dates of my immunizations, as I got all of those back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth; so I filled out the background check info, submitted that and scheduled an appointment with my Dr. to draw blood for titers.

Does it automatically submit that when I click agree?

I believe it does. You'll get an email saying the you "Background Report is Complete."

I called to check on all the info on the background check and was told filling out the background check was the only thing required on that website. Print off the confirmation that you get for paying for the background check and your results along with the other attachment on the email that was sent to you for your badge and bring it all with you to orientation. Along with all that, bring copies of you immunization papers and insurance to orientation also. We will fill out alot of paper work on that day. :D

Thank you! I'm kind of frantic trying to get everything together!

kaesmith2011, Hoover Fire Station #7 offers BLS healthcare provider classes free to Hoover residents or $20.00 for non-residents. You have to sign up on their webpage, but they also have a link to take an online class but you have to pass a skills test at the fire station. There is no charge for that option. If you go to the class, make sure you sign up for healthcare provider, not heart saver..:: HOOVER FIRE DEPARTMENT :.. to register for the class, go to the services tab> hover at CPR and click the registration form. Hope that helps. This was a much less expensive option than Red Cross or YMCA in my opinion.

Local Fire Dept's are a good place to check for the CPR training. Does anyone know a good place for getting the Hep shots?

Try the Health Dept in the county where you live. That said, call them first. Shelby Co. is no longer offering adult Hep B. Also if you have health insurance, schedule a physical and ask at the time you make the appointment about getting vaccines/titers, and have your insurance cover it. Hep B is a 3 shot series.

Thank you :) I hope we only have to have the CPR done before class not orientation. And yea the Hep shots take 3 months to get them done. Once every month.
