Published

any Jeff State Fall 2011 hopefuls out there??

I am taking the TEAS V Wednesday, so then I will know how many points I have!!! :)

SassyRN:

did you guys have to purchase your own bp cuff also?

Thanks for all of your help!

:):yeah:

U r so welcome....and yes we did purchase our own blood pressure cuff I got mine for $13 @ cvs it doesn't have to be an expensive one because it's mainly for your use to practice u will access to bp cuffs while in lab it's not a problem if u bring your own but I do suggest using the ones in lab because those are the ones u have to use for validations.

Thanks SassyRN....

one more question...what about stethoscopes....are the cheap ones just as good?

@ sassyrn... how does the uniform ordering work? Is there a particular site that they are ordered from.. i'm not slim and i'm tall, just wanna make sure i am comfortable in the uniform.. Thanks so much.

Thanks SassyRN....

one more question...what about stethoscopes....are the cheap ones just as good?

Some cheap stethoscopes are just as good but it depends on what kind u buy I'm not to sure honestly about the cheap ones I've just heard people say that some work just as good. I bought a Littman because I personally wanted a good stethoscope and I love mine so it's really up to you and how much u want to spend.

@ teejazzy they have a certain website to order uniforms from and they come in all sizes including tall so no worries :-)

one more question...I think I am going to take your advice and purchase books individually, but do we have to have "codes" someone said something about purchasing codes from evolve...????? hope that makes sense....and your help is so much appreciated!!! :)

@ tvmoore it's no prob u are welcome...u do not need codes to purchase books from amazon/eBay. The code for books applies to if u buy the bundle and along with the bundle u have access to the books online through evolve which is a total waste of time because I couldnt see myself spending hours reading from a computer screen and they are going to make it sound so appealing @ orientation but I was told from other nursing students it's a waste and there are those that think it's great but when I say the BOOK is going to become your new best friend believe me lol!

lol. thanks sassyrn2012.. you're great! this gives us good insight on things.

U guys are so welcome! It wasn't to long ago that I was in your shoes lol. Wish u guys the best and I'm glad to help anytime

after the 1st semester of classes in the n/w program, i know that clinicals start the 2nd semester.. how many nights of clients per week do you normally have?

after the 1st semester of classes in the n/w program, i know that clinicals start the 2nd semester.. how many nights of clients per week do you normally have?

Clinicals started in March I think it was right after spring break we had clinicals for 5 weeks once a week. Clinical days during the week were tues-thur from 4-9pm or sat/sun from 6:45am-12:45 we had the option of signing up for clinicals during the week or weekend and we were assigned 1 pt it's usually 6 or 7 students in a clinical group our first night we were allowed to work w/ partners just to ease into it then afterwards we worked with our pts on our own.

Has anyone had anything mailed to them yet?! I got the call a week ago Tuesday. I got the emails to my pipeline account but when I checked my mailbox today there was a letter dated June 30th but not mailed until July 12th stating that I didn't get in. I am totally confused at this point. I have

Already done my background check.....immunizations.....etc.
