any Jeff State Fall 2011 hopefuls out there??
I am taking the TEAS V Wednesday, so then I will know how many points I have!!! :)
Maybe you guys can help me. I just did the background check online, but what about the rest of the stuff? Do we have our doctor to give us a generic physical form? What is the consent and release form? Does all of this stuff have to be done by orientation? My head is spinning! LOL! I'm hoping that I'm not the only one that was a little confused by all of this stuff that we have to get and fax in... if so I'll feel really crazy!
Also, has anyone heard which books we're going to need? I'd like to get a jump start, if possible, on the 1st semester (NW Program YAY! ). I have heard about Calculate with Confidence, but is there a certain edition? Hope to hear from you guys soon!! I'm SO excited about the program... I'm just ready to get this ball rollin'!! :)
I think I am going to go ahead and get the shots...the titers are expensive and not
covered by insurance and then if you are not immune...you have to go back and pay for shots....
Reading on several post from allnurses.com...it is cheaper to just go ahead and get the vaccinations! I think
all we HAVE to have COMPLETED before orientation!!! I think they will give us a small physical form to get the dr. to sign...thats what I've been reading on other post!
YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm have to get my shots tomorrow, and I'm just going to get the doctor to write down everything that was done, and hopefully they will be okay with it. I'm guessing we will have to scan our CPR cards and such and upload it on the background check page, and that's how they will check everything off before orientation. There's supposed to be a way to check the books on the Jeff state website (different link for nursing books), and the link won't work for me. I keep hearing Calculating with Confidence on the Pharmacology part...the latest I saw was 5th edition. Not 100% sure though.
I just did the first section(the background check). I didn't put anything in the immunization, Liability Insurance, or anything else. I just made sure the background portion was done and paid the fee.
Congrats to all accepted this fall!! I'm 3rd semester n/w program Shelby and to those accepted to night program it isn't necessary to get vaccinations this early because clinicals will not start until 2nd semester u guys have plenty of time so dont stress and worry bout the shots so much however it is your choice. I promise all of the questions will be answered at orientation I was the exact same way lol. Any questions I will be more than happy to answer.
