January 2016 Downey , El Monte, Hacienda La Puente LVN, anyone?

El monte is bar far the cheapest and the most competitive to get in. The test is not that hard just basic high school but if you have been out for a while then you should study.

The thing I know about El Monte is that your interview starts as soon as you put in your app. Don't show up slouchy to the test. Make sure you are paying attention. Don't be late.

Also I get your money lined up. They do not take aid. It's a cash only place before the program starts. And I know they will tell you this but they really mean it NO WORKING. I went through the program and it was possible to work weekends but the 2 people that did in my class were not able to make it.

What attracted me the most about El Monte is the cost. Cheapest at around $3600 compared to private colleges charging $30k.

I've already started studying for the tabe test. Got a couple of books at the library and I also have a copy of the teas book that I can use for practice.

I also just recently signed up for a cna class at the local american Red Cross and plan to work once or twice a week during the program.

Im really dedicated to pursue this nursing career. Coming from working in the corporate field for the past couple of years will be a 360 degree transition. I will be leaving a comfortable profession in public accounting (CPA) for a vocation in nursing.

I understand I was a career changer as well. I love it.

I think those private school are a rip off for the most part. I work in a clinic and whenever someone applies if they are from one of those for profits the clinic just puts the app at the bottom of the pile until they toss.

I graduated from Hacienda La Puente LVN program last year. Heck I loved/hated it.

Tabe was a breeze, everyone panics about time and what not. Basic english/math/vocab etc. I studied the TEAs book for the test since i didn't want to buy the tabe book. It cost me $3000 with tuition, health clearance, and the nclex. Total amount for the program was $7,500 but I got financial aid for $5,500. It was tough but worth it. Say try for all to see which one you get into then decide from there.

6 months after I passed my boards (on the first try) and now i'm working at Kaiser.

I really enjoy reading posts on this site! I'm well beyond my MSN and I still find posts enlightening and informative. I graduated from Rio Hondo and continued on from there.
