Hello, I wanted to know if anyone here works for or ever did work for the James and what you thought of it, both pros/cons.
Thanks,
renerian

I'm doing the BSN - completion thing online and one of my fellow students has a daughter that works there and she loves it!
Thanks for responding. I will certainly consider them in the very near furture. They have alot to offer.

Hey :) I'm currently doing my first clinical at the James, and volunteered there a year or so ago. They're very nice, very efficient in my opinion. All the staff I've met that work there absolutely love it. Not only is the James very state of the art and up to date, but is in a very good section of town (ie on osu's campus) but is also connected through tunnels to all the other campus hospitals and parking garages, so no going out into the snow during winter. Right now there's plans in motion to build a James 2, an entire new James in addition to the old; they've outgrown the old one.

I am not an RN yet, I am completing my ADN thru Excelsior College but my wife is a patient there. She is fighting off Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We live more than 2 hours form the James but we felt so confident in them after having a second opinion consult there we knew we wouldn't go anywhere else.
She had lymph nodes taken from her abdomen in August and spent a week there and the RN' and PCA;s were great! We were actually sad saying goodbye to some of them.
She did her first round of Rituxan there and the nurses in the chemo unit became like family, they were really professional as well.
All of the nurses I talked to seemed to really like their jobs. I have a cousin who works in the SICU there and she loves it
Anyway, for what it's worth:p
Firemedic glad they were good to your family. Oncology nurses are special/big smile. Glad your mate is hanging in there.
