Hi everyone. I'm looking for some advice. I want to obtain my Masters online in education. I'm having trouble choosing between these 2 online programs. Jacksonville University and University of Phoenix both sound great. Prices are just about the same. The only difference I'm finding is that UOP provides books, etc online and Jacksonsville I have to buy the textbooks. Has anyone done either program and can offer some advice? Are there group projects? Thanks!
To answer for myself, I do not want to be a nurse practitioner. I do not want to see 30+ patients per day, or prescribe, or be stuck working 50 to 60 hours per week in an office or inpatient setting. The lifestyle of a nurse practitioner is not for me. I'd be happiest if I never touched another patient for the rest of my career. Also, why MSN in Education versus NP?
The MSN in nursing education would allow me to teach online courses and/or secure a position as a hospital unit educator or employee health nurse.

As someone else managed, it's not a "pure" MSN, it's an MSN in education. I'm currently getting my MSN in leadership. A) because I have no interested in being an advanced practice RN, and b) because I want to go into nursing leadership, just as I assume the OP wants to go into nursing education. I strongly disgree that a non-clinical MSN doesn't teach anything of value or provide any marketable skill sets. I am in a leadership position now because of my MSN program, and I only expect to go further up the ladder as a result of the degree.
