Hey everyone! So the deadline has officially passed... and now we wait! I haven't seen any dedicated threads for Spring semester yet, so I figured this would be a good way to support each other and provide updates so we can try to get through the month of September together. I hope we can maintain at least a little bit of our sanity until then!
So who else is waiting for the letter(s)?
Don't get your tb tests until you've been given the dates, they have to be timed out perfectly, with the second one within 30 days of the start of clinicals. If you have already had the 3 part hep b series, they'll require you to get a titer to prove your immunity. There's lots of specific info that you will receive in a huge immunization packet at orientation. Regarding the background check/drug test, the Bloomington students have to get it done at a specific clinic near campus, and you are not given the actual paperwork for it until orientation.
It seems like a ton of info at first, but you'll get through it and will be passing meds and transferring people on hoyer lifts every 5 minutes :)
Where are you guys doing your cpr at? The red cross doesn't have anything near me anytime soon.
The YMCA in Valpo is doing 2 classes, one is for health care professionals it's$85 for non-YMCA members.....November5th. And Lay person CPR AED is November 12, and first aid is the 13th if needed.
From researching on my end it seems like the minute clinic was the best bet also... thanks for the info on the cpr classes in Dyer that is cheaper than the one I found
cschafer today I learned that Physicians Urgent care in Highland Indiana has physicals for 29$ If you are not near Highland I would google another location, that is a really great price.
I was accepted into the Fort Wayne Campus and I have completed the background check and drug test, done the physical received my Tdap, flu shot and first round of Hep b. Also did first round of TB test, had blood drawn for MMR and Varicella which came back showing enough immunity. I have second TB scheduled along with CPR class first of Nov. Which all rounds out to be done for Nov 7th deadline. I also picked up a pair of memory foam walk sketchers will see how those work out for me. Anybody else in Fort Wayne like to email me so we can be excited together [email protected]
Hello,
As I previously stated, I was accepted into the ASN program (Lawrence) and my expected graduation date was stated as August 2017 - which does not seem correct. From what I understand, I would be graduating at the end of the Spring Semester 2016. Any information out there that is not unnecessarily confusing?

The info on the background check and drug test are in your letter. They are both due next month so if you can't find them call the nursing department.
