Hello everyone, I am 2 weeks away from finishing my ENG 111 class. It looks as though I wil have an A if I keep up my hard work. I also have A's in A&P101 and Psch. I am hoping to do well on my teas test so that I have a strong application to submit. I've been using the study guide since I found it online for $12. I guess I'm just nervous, but I was hoping to see if anyone else had some info on how the teas test is scored into you application.
I just took the TEAS this month (July). I studied everyday for weeks. My best advice is to supplement the study guide with YouTube videos. I also suggest that you actively study. Do not just read the book. Practice practice practice. I did about 59 math problems everyday to make sure I understand the math without issue. You'll do fine
They score by individual sections, not the overall total. The Reading portion is worth 20 points total (your score x .20 gives you the number of points), Math 30 (your score x .30 gives you the number of points), English/Writing 20 and Science is also 30 I believe. Then pre-reqs have points as well. Google Ivy Tech Nursing Program TEAS and you should find their online seminar informational.
I'm not applying until February for Columbus, Indy, Sellersburg and Bloomington but I've been trying to make sure I'm ready by studying, practicing and getting encouragement from this forum. Good Luck!!!
I took my test today. Looks like my application score is going to be 142.43/160. Not sure how I feel about this. Life science took up most of my science section so I only managed a 70.8% in that section. I feel I could have done better. If I don't get in the program I will study more and retake the teas for the fall 2017 program. I do hope I get into the spring program though. Wish me the best guys.
