Hi
I need help trying to figure out this dosage calculation. I have racked my brain trying to figure out how to set it up. I know I am missing something simple. Thanks
The doctor orders Cardizem 5 mg/hr IVPB started now. Available to the nurse is 100 ml NS with 125 mg of Cardizem. The rate of the infusion will be how many ml/hr?

I havent taken pharm yet, In my calculations, I tried it with a macrodrip rate of 10 gtt, coming up with a rate of 0.66 gtt/min..which would be 39.6 gtt/hr..cant wait to take pharm..let me know what you come up with :)

the answer is 4 ml/hr, here is what i did, 5mg x 100ml
hr x 125mg
cancel out the mg and u are left with ml/hr and just do the math after that
hope that helps
