IV antibiotics compatible with D5W ?

Hi all, i am a new nurse. I had a question about compatibility of IV antibiotics. There is an antibiotic - Imipramine (something like that) its combination with some other antibiotc (cant remember the name) so the question is - can we piggyback that antibiotic with D5W ? Pls reply asap. Thanks!

Of course not. Pharmacists are there to assist nurses, and vice versa. If the OP worked with me, I'd show her how to use the IV compatibility section of Micromedex and she'd be able to look up her own questions of this nature. I'd also show her our drug books and help her find Pharmacy's number if she still had questions. That's what my preceptor did for me.
