i sat the nclex last 19 here in manila. 3 pm. i was done in about 1.15 hours. i had 75 questions -15 satas ( uggh! some of them almost back-to-back)...i almost collapsed lol, and i have about 8 meds, and i have no calculations. i am very worried cuz my last three questions were very easy. since this site was a big help to me i'm gonna do my share of sharing.
1. believe everyone that 70 percent of the exam will be on delegation, prioritization, cohorting. i believe that this is the foundation of the exam. everything revolve around these 3 things.
2. tons of meds will be thrown in your face. just remember this: you do not need to study a pharma book! i am telling you! if you study one...i think,in my opinion, you will have a much harder time in nclex-pharma. just look in threads here for the "most commonly tested meds in nclex" and "most advertised drugs in us television"...it's about 150 drugs to familiarize with. everything is in there. i am very certain that i passed the pharma part in my exam. but the rest of the exam i am very uncertain.
3. pray. pray. pray.
it was hard. i hope i passed. keeping my fingers crossed. i leave my fate to the almighty one. thanks again everyone for the inputs and moral support.

I took the NCLEX-RN on September 19th at 1 pm for the first time. The test shut off at 75 questions. I had 15-25 SATA, 3 math calculations, prioritization, delegation, infection control, hardly any pharmacology, and a few basic questions. I was sooooooo nervous.
I found out earlier today that I passed! Thank the lord, Kaplan, Saunders, and the Random fact throwing sticky.
I hope that your result is the same as mine; it feels so good!

hi., kabayan! goodluk! what review materials did u use? thnks.. my exam will be on oct 15
hello goodluck to you.i used a lot of reviewer. but i think after i saw the exam itself i suggest to you that you stick to saunders compre and q & a. yun lang! then find a kaplan 1-7 trainer! the exam looks like it (finish 1-7 a week b4 your exam). look here in allnurses for the threads on 'frequently asked meds on nclex and us tv drug ads". memorize and familiarize them.those thread will save you in pharma. i guarantee you. are you takin it in makati or in the states? we filipinos are crazy test takers! last 19 i had fellow test-taker who finished the whole thing in about 14 minutes! i was like...***** so dont be rattled when someone leaves the room ahead of you. you will notice it cuz the room is kinda small.

Hi there,
I'm still preparing for NCLEX and im using Saunder's NCLEX-RN review with CD. Hopefully next month i could take a Kaplan Review Class.
Good luck to all of us.
God Bless
Thanks Melinurse, you're so supportive of the people who are nervous about taking the NCLEX. I saw you're posts when preparing for my test and I remember thinking to myself, "this woman is so encouraging and a great cheerleader for us scared folks".
My first two questions were basic and the second one was a SATA. LOL. I couldn't count all the SATA because there were just too many and I was too nervous, but I was extremely surprised that I didn't get many questions about medications like I thought I would.
I left the test feeling like only one question was completely foreign to me, but I kept telling myself to be humble b/c I didn't want to sike myself up and then see that I failed. I would feel really bad then, so I waited (impatiently) for my results and it's still sinking in.
I pray for everyone on this board and everyone trying to tackle this test. We will ALL make it when the time is right.
