I found out today that me and my wife both passed the boards. I would like to thank everyone who gave words of encouragement and prayers our way. It's like the greatest weight lifted from our shoulders. 5 years of hard work brought us to the good news of passing today. To all you upcoming NCLEX takers......honestly, if I can do it you can to. I was a B average student in school and did 50/50 on HESI's. I would pass one and fail one, I did not think the NCLEX was as bad. I just had a lot of med questions, but nursing questions were not as hard to pick the correct answer if you know the material. Thanks everyone!!!!! This site has been a big help to me:)

Many Blessings

Thank you so much for the prayers and now you are in mine as you prepare for the exam. Do not stress, if you know the material you will do fine and who better to have on your side than the Lord!

In retrospect, what advice would you give on medication preparation for the nclex? I have a pretty good foundation on basics but when I do Mosby's med questions, it's just new material on some of the meds that I never had and I don't know how else I'd get it if it weren't for questions.

So, a source that you recommend?

For the married couple, your post is refreshing and I felt hopeful for a change after reading it...that you thought Hesi was harder and that you didn't think the nclex questions were unreasonable if you knew the material?!!! How refreshing to hear that!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, I did not really concentrate on the drugs other than knowing the ones with major side effects such as Dig, Psych meds, and TB meds like Rifampin. Also I made sure I knew my antidotes for drugs. I would also know some of the neo drugs and the autoimmune drugs that may be given to boost the immune system when taking neo meds. Honestly, you just cannot predict what drugs they are going to ask you about, and there is know way I got the majority of mine right. So please do not stress to much on the drugs other than knowing those you learned about in school. I used Saunders to study with and it was great in getting my knowledge base of nursing up to par. Have confidence in yourself and remember you made it through Nursing school which is not an easy thing to do.
