ISU LPN-BSN Spring 2016

Hello I am from the Houston are as well. Was curious to see how things are going for you in getting into ISU?

I attempted to take the course at ISU but after starting my application process in April 2015 and being essentially ignored by ISU until the day AFTER classes started in the fall--and then being told I have to take an extra math placement test after my transcripts had already been evaluated and I had already been told that I was able to take the College Algebra course, I just walked away.

Additionally, the ISU LVN to BSN program is one the most expensive that I've seen in the entire nation. University of Phoenix was expensive at $67K for their course. ISU is much more expensive than that. I'm in not including any College Network courses because I went directly to ISU and bypassed TCN.

ISU...no thanks. Good luck to you folks, though.

I also got into the Spring 2016 class at ISU. My email is [email protected]. I am also interested in forming a study/support group. I am just north of Jacksonville, FL. U am feeling very nervous about starting the program and it would be great to talk to others who are starting.

I just wanted to leave you a note of inspiration and encouragment. I graduated from this program in December, took my NCLEX, and have passed on first try 75Q's. It is a TOUGH program, don't let the online factor fool you. You will need to establish your own clinical contacts and sites, but if you have a nurse network through work that helps. If not, reach out to as many of the hospitals and facilities nursing education departments as you can. The department contacts can be very difficult to locate and time consuming, so prepare one semester ahead on each course that requires a clinical :) You can do it and don't give up!! And don't do any courses with TCN lol... unless you are sure you can pass teh clep courses and check with ISU to see if you really do indeed need the course before signing the contract with TCN. be careful with them. ISU is great though and am so thankful to have been apart of this program! -Seattle, Wa RN-BSN

Just an update. I did not get accepted into the spring term program. However, I received notice a few days ago that I was accepted into the summer term this year. There were so many applicants for the fall term that they decided to reconsider/reevaluate some applicants that were not accepted into fall for summer. I am very greatful to have received a second chance and looking forward to starting in May 2016. If there is anyone else whom was accepted for summer please message/comment below. Also I would like to hear from those who started in the spring 2016. How are the classes going?

If you don't mind me asking, how were your TEAS scores? Trying to gauge what scores are needed to actually get accepted. The program website lists the parameters for the standard RN program, but nothing for the LPN to BSN.

Hi, I wanted to follow up with you regarding your entrance into the LPN-BSN program. I, like you, also have a bachelors of science as well as an LPN. I just finished Chemistry which was the only prereq I needed to gain entry. Lastly, I am now studying for my TEAS test and hopefully I will be eligible for October entrance. I already completed the transcript eval and all of those other things so hopefully I can get in. Please follow up with me and let me know how it works............................
