ISU LPN2BSN Challenge Exam Material Search

Published

I have just applied to Indiana State University so that I can start the process to get into their LPN to BSN program. My advisor emailed me step by step instructions that I need to complete. One of the steps said that I would need to call 'The College Network" to get the study modules. Well I heard the horror stories about that company so I looked on Amazon to see if anyone is selling their modules for the challenge exams. Unfortunately I didnt find any :crying2:. Does anyone know any other sites that I can get these challenge exam modules? I dont want to pay hundreds of dollars for something that I could get for a fraction of the cost. Also I see where I have to take a TEAS exam and I have to find my own proctor but I dont know anyone here in Virginia like that. Is there a place where I can find a proctor? Could I go to a library maybe? I dont attend any colleges here. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :D:D:D

I have read that the best way to get used copies of these study guides is going through the student communication system of the school. That is where students post available copies for sale or such. Once you are registered, you should be given instructions on accessing the student portal. Check there.

Check with your local PearsonVue testing center for possible TEAS testing. Cost is supposed to be minimal.

The College Network is contracted to be the exclusive provider of the modules so dealing with them for ISU isn't a bad thing. I would agree that it's not ideal, but trying to find them first on the student communication system seems like a great way to find them.

Thanks for all the advice given. I figured out a solution to the TEAS exam proctor thanks to caliotter3 . Now for the modules the jury is still out on that one. I tried looking on the ISU site and I didnt find much. So I went ahead and called TCN. Well.... the sales dept. told me that for those FOUR classes it would cost me alittle over 2000 dollars!!!! WTH!!!! But they could set me up with monthly payments of 100 to200 dollars a month. This is why I didnt want to call TCN because they are thieves, they take advantage of people wanting to go back to school and charge them outrageous prices. I'm going to consider going to college in my neighborhood. I would love to go online but it seems like too many hoops to jump through and too much money that I dont have right now. Has anyone else done the ISU LPN2BSN? How did you budget? Was it worth it in the end?

You know something, you don't even need the modules. For example, cardiac nursing interventions are cardiac nursing interventions. If you want to do the work, just obtain study resources on the topic material for the individual tests. If it covers peds nursing, then get a revew book on peds nursing as well as a peds text and go for it. I have read of at least one person who passed the exams this way. Where there is a will there is a way. You don't need to shell out $2000 to TCN to pass these tests.

That sounds more logical then paying all that money. Plus I read some more threads saying that all the material was not covered in the TCN modules. Im going to call ISU and see if I can get a study outline.

If you decide to just study from independent resources I highly recommend Saunders it seems to be very useful in both passing the nclex and ece so I can only infer that it will be a great resource for ISU.
