Thanks from me too - I'm glad to hear it's not SO bad. After visiting a schoool this past weekend and hearing from the faculty and current students that school is a bear, I've been trying to figure out if I can do it and if I really want to. Good to hear that you can manage a bit of a personal life.

Hello All,
It doesn't seem like to long ago that I was scavenging this site for advice on admissions, interview, and GRE information, but at last it has more than begun.
I am finishing up my first semester at Albany Medical College (Integrated), and it has been interesting to say the least. The class time is about 30 hrs per week, with about another 20-30hrs/ week studying outside of class.
Don't be fooled though! There is time for fun. I actually took the last four days off without touching a book. Did some hiking, day trips, few days at the local pub, and even a night of dancing. So although days seem endless at times their is some solice amidst the studying. So for those of you who don't know if you can handle it--just do it--you will love it.
My class is a dynamic group ranging in age from 21-48, with a mean of 34. 5 students have families and one is having a second child due this fall. Many students have picked up a shift in the ICU one a week, or every two weeks. It is very doable!!
We get two and one-half weeks off for christmas and then clinicals kick in twice a week, with an additional two days of class work. They say the first semester is the toughest with all of the adjustments, studying and testing--If I can do it you all can do it.
Just a few words of encouragement from somebody who remembers worrying about the choice I was making.
Good luck,
Jeff
