Is it worth moving to Connecticut for a RN job?

U.S.A. Connecticut

hey all!

Im a RN here in NY (currently no experience/international grad :( )

I have been trying to look for a job here and have no luck so far.

I've heard that nursing homes in CT are hiring RN's like me.

My question is, is it worth the travel and moving?..

Especially with the reciprocity process and the salary?

Please help. Any advice would do. Thank u very much.

Absolutely not! CT's job market for new/unexperienced RN's is bad, bad, bad!

Nursing homes are hiring but many require experience. Those that don't are receiving getting more applications than they have positions.

NO! The job market is terrible here, especially with no exp. Stay in NY and keep sending out resumes?

Why would you want a job as a new grad in a LTC anyway??? It is the perfect job to lose your license with the absurd/unsafe staffing ratios that now exist in most LTC environments! I understand we must "take what we can get," but I would suggest LTC as the last resort...look into jails/schools/dialysis/clinics/The V-A(If you can move) etc...etc...There are far more options and by the way...its not so terrible as the others are saying... For one example:Hartford Hospital routinely hires new grad adn nurses...look and think for yourself! Getting a nursing job is like getting any other job in the good ol' U S of A...you gotta make it happen. A degree does not equal a job!

Thanks for all u response. I did apply for the license and a friend of mine is getting me into vent/trach patients. And talkin about hospitals, Im applying to a good hospital here in NY and just waitin for the interview! wish me luck! :)
