Is there a waiting list for the LVN-RN bridge program in California?

Published

I am finishing LVN school next week... yay me! :yeah: I have two more pre req classes to complete and then I am ready to apply to the RN program! I really want to apply to the bridge program and dont want to wait for any waiting list. Does anyone know about the LVN-RN programs in California or if there is any information that can help me out? Thank you

Can you guys tell me what is the prerequisite for LVN to go to RN school? Thank you a bunch....

Same as for anyone else. Depends upon the school. Take any school you are interested in, look up their website, and you can find the prerequisites listed on the School of Nursing link.

You might want to try WGUs program. They have a prelicensure program and the minimum is a CNA, and since you will have your LVN you might be done a bit quicker. You may want to contact them for more information. Good Luck

You seem to be very knoweldgable. What would you suggest for OC area online or night/ weekend program LVN-RN??

Unfortunately, they still want you to get your pre reqs and transfer there. Other than that, I personally would've gone there :D

Pre-Req's depend on the individual school... most include Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Psych 101, Soc 101, Math 060. Some require Chemistry and Life Span Development.

Just an FYI guys, a lot of LA hospitals are now only hiring BSNs! Uggh...

Hello everyone,

Yes I am a new nurse (LVN) and I graduated 3/4/2015. I just made the application deadline in October 2016 for SJVC LVN to RN Bridge Program. Fundamentals was very challenging but do able. I am in mental health right now and this program, like I said earlier is challenging. In order to gain a seat there is a few steps in the application process. Upon completing the application the you are graded on a point system based on grades, letters of recommendations, and experience and a formal interview. The NCLEX passing rate is 100%. The program is 3 times a week so working part time is also do able. There are about 150 applicants per year and about 28 to 30 students receive seats after the interview. No waiting lists. Hope this is helpful

Hi New lvn,

Just curious... Did you take the RN Fundamnetals 2016 Exam prior to your interview? Would you say it was pretty easy or difficult to obtain a level 2? Any study tips?
