Is this unrealistic?

My fiancé is laid off indefinitely, we are not sure when he will be able to go back to work or find work. I have a part time 24 hour evenings position right now, and I'd like to be able to pick up another 24 hour evening position at another hospital (which I have been offered). This means working every weekend, and trying to work out both schedules each month, which I know that won't be easy. Has anyone else tried this and been successful? The opposite experiences shared would be beneficial as well. Thanks!

Is an agency or per diem job also a possibility? Agencies pay well and you get to pick when and where you want to work.

I would look request PRN or float pool. You more than likely can pull the exact same hours, but make your own schedule. Also, encourage your Significant other to do waitering or bartend until the money is flowing back in.

I went to school for 2 years, while working full-time 36hours on the weekend. My attitude was disgusting, and I didn't even want to be around myself. I was in the hospital 6 days out of the week 3 days of clinical and 3 days of work....All of my relationships failed in the mean time, because I was exhausted of talking to people & hearing people's problems when I had my own, I couldn't sleep!

Thanks for all the advice! I actually got a call to interview for a per diem float pool position, so if that works out I'll keep one part time and the per diem float pool! Fingers crossed

You can look into Private Duty Nursing, too... I've been surprised to learn that there are a lot of openings in my area for this type of work, and it can be as little as one day a week if you want.
