Hi everyone:
Thinking about to apply for a job there. Is the hospital nurse friendly? But I have heard Oakland is an area full of crimes. This makes me worried too. Thanks for helps.

Rebecca, Kaiser Oakland is right down the street from the Macarthur Plaza BART station. My wife worked near there, and after work we would walk to BART together. The popular name for the station is "Murder Mall". If you work nights you will be lucky if you're only robbed. That neighborhood is a warzone!

Definitely not a safe area, nor one that you would want your mother to visit you in.

I don't know about the hospital as a good place to work, nor about the MacArthur Bart station per se, but the area where Kaiser Oakland is located is about 10 minutes from where I live in Oakland and as cities go, is pretty safe. My front door is often unlocked, I've lived in Oakland since 1988 and have never been the victim of a crime. Kaiser Oakland is off of Piedmont ave. which is a great shopping district and middle to high end in terms of retail.
The BART station is several blocks from the hospital.

That part of Oakland I don't know about, but Oakland in general is not a safe city.
Kaiser....that's a whole 'nuther story, I won't go there. Liable to get slammed.
