Hello everyone.
I need advice from someone (esp. international student) who is taking/ took online fnp program required clinical components.
I graduated from a nursing school in New York and worked as a R.N. for one year in Seattle. Like most international nursing students, after my OPT was expired, I couldn't work as a R.N. in the U.S. anymore.
So, I moved back to my home country.
At the same time, I started taking online FNP program.
Before I started this program, I made sure that issuing a student visa for clinical components would not be a problem. Both school faculty members and the folks from the immigration office assured that the student visa could be issued for clinical components. (Due to this reason, I had not searched other FNP or Master programs)
Few months ago, I finished most of my courses except clinical components which I should do in the U.S.
As the school started processing to issue I-20 (student visa), the immigration office said that they cannot understand why online program needs a student visa to finish the degree.
It has been a couple of months already without any progress or answer.
School is working to resolve this issue but it is torturing to waiting for their decision and answer.
Is there any international student taking online FNP program required clinical components in the U.S.?
Or, is there any online FNP student who couldn't finish their clinical components and consider to transfer other FNP programs?

I can't help out with the online clinical part, but I would narrow down my search and inquiries with a state BRN evaluator or analysis, stay in constant contact with that person, that will accept what you're going thru now.
Don't waste time and money by going into a state where the online program with the outside clinical (not concurrent) or was taken later will not be accepted at all (for licensure purposes) OR the same thing with any FNP schools that you're considering to transfer to.
Has this school you did the program with, are they able to inform you of other recent successful international grads and got jobs? Were you able to stay in contact with other students from your class?

Getting a RN license is not this poster's issue since they went to school in the US. I am betting they are trying to qualify for e-2 visa. I can see why immigrate is concerned, online means via internet, I would ask the school to intervene since they said it would not be an issue.

Which online course did you attend for the FNP?
