Is Grady Really Hiring???

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hi. I graduate from nursing school in May from a neighboring GA state and I am wanting to work in Atlanta right after school. It seems that alot of hospitals are not currently hiring besides Grady. I spoke with a nurse recruiter from there, although she seemed extremely busy and rushed, eagerly explained that they do hire new grads from out of state as long as you have a current GA license. So my question is.....Is this information correct and valid or is the market just as cut throat as other facilities? I hate to apply for a license there not find a job and then have to wait 3 months to get a license in my home state. I so desperately want to work at Grady and live in Atlanta. I love the fast pace and a good trauma hospital. All information on jobs in Atlanta, specifically Grady would be very appreciated.

Specializes in PD,Nxstage,hemo.

My girlfriend said they are suppose to be hiring around 500 nurses.

I received my nursing license Aug 2010, still unemployed. I have searched high and low in the Atlanta area, u name the hospital & I put in the application..nothing. However, once I started searching outside the metro Atlanta area...I have been getting calls recently, even from the VA (currently pending physical & background)..therefore you can possibly find a job, but forget finding one within Atlanta..

As far as Grady, I even went down to HR, introduced myself, was told they were hiring new nurses for med surg...still ain't heard nothing...

Good luck however.:nurse:

Grady is always hiring because nurses are always quitting.
