Hi there. I recently moved from NYC back to Bay Area to be closer to family, and little do I know the RN job market here is tough. I had worked as a nurse midwife for almost 4 years back in NYC and now I can't find any L&D RN position (I decided to work as a RN instead of midwife due to licensing issue and better work life balance), not even one interview after applied to all those listings out there (I don't have any contact/referral unfortunately) Is it always that difficult to get a L&D job here? My last job was in a private medical office (got the job in less than one day). Is it because they think my midwife experience is not a good fit, should I exclude that from my resume? Now I am losing hope......
The bay area is a super competitive area. I'm in the central valley and we have many nurses come from all over the state to work here because we are an under-served area so the hospitals will hire with no experience, even in specialties.
