Is this even medically accurate?

OK, so I'm watching "Days of Our Lives" on my day off. The doctor tells Beau's dad that his pancreas has shut down and his life is in danger. In reality, what can cause this? Is it life-threatening? It just made me wonder ... :-)

Also, that Lexie character seems to deliver ALL the medical care on that show. She can do it all!! She delivers babies, performs heart transplants, works in the trauma room etc.:p

I watch Days but laugh at it at the same time and heck, Passions is even more ridiculous.

My favorite soap in my teens and early 20s was Santa Barbara. I liked that one because they weren't above poking fun at themselves once in awhile.
