Hi my name is Edward i am currently in the Marine Corps but will be getting out soon. I went to the military right out of high school and now that im getting i want to go to school for Pediatric Nursing, any tips, advice would help alot thanks!!!

I 'd say, pursue your nursing education, and you will learn about pediatric nursing as part of your program. You can't just study Pediatric Nursing only, and that is just as well, because if you do end up as a nurse with children, you will need to understand all aspects of nursing.

Get your RN first (if at all possible go straight to the BSN- saves you time later) then apply to hospitals with pediatric units, Good Luck!

Can you work at a pediatric hospital as a student nurse assistant? Make connections with your peds classroom and clinical instructors...that can be key in getting into specialty positions in nursing as a new grad! :)

Hi Edward,

First, thanks for your service!

I agree with the above, get your RN first and BSN if you can allow the time.

If your have any questions on Pediatrics, feel free to PM me.

I have had experience in quite a few pediatric clinic areas.

Best wishes!
