Is anyone waiting to hear from Chemeketa?

U.S.A. Oregon

I am anxiously awaiting my final scores for the application process. The wait is downright painful! Anyone else waiting to hear from them??

Mid June is the official time frame. However, the first or second week of June was the norm for the last few gears.

Fewer applicants this year, so maybe it'll be quicker. :)

Is everyone else going stark raving mad yet?? This wait is torture!!!!!!

YES!!! I am trying so hard to be patient and not think about it, but it is impossible! I was hoping we would hear back a little early, but they said it is still set to be June.... :/

My coworkers and family are about ready to commit me, I think. It doesn't help that I'm not taking any classes this term, so I'm bored out of my mind!! I'm just making my lists and plans for getting an acceptance letter. I figure this way, I'm not doing things at the last minute. Did you speak with someone in the nursing office? I've been contemplating contacting them, but I realize this will likely just slow the process down and take their time from more important things... Things like sending our acceptance letters! :) If you did speak to them, feel free to share any info. Crossing my fingers for all of us!

Just an FYI; last year people got their emails on June 8. I 'think' the earliest I've seen in posts on here was June 4 one year. I'm hoping the decreased number of applicants this year will speed things up. :)

Yes, it was someone in the nursing office. I had just asked if there was a date set for letters to go out. They said not specifically, but that it would be in June. :)

Fingers crossed for June to bring happy news!

What do you guys think? I've heard so many different stories from people who have known people to get into the nursing program with not the best grades. Do you guys think this is true? Do they base the decision just off of who has the best scores? I wonder?

It depends on the school. Chemeketa is a points system, which includes a proctored essay. There is no personal statement or interview involved. Are you talking about Chemeketa or someplace else?

Yeah Chemeketa. I applied this year. I only have 337 points. Got 42/50 on my essay and I wonder if I even have a chance of getting in.

Unfortunately, there is no way to answer this. They select the top scores to fill their seats. It depends on the scores of the applicants to determine how low of a score might get accepted. Wishing you the best of luck! Letters should be emailed in June. :)

I think there is a little wiggle room with grades but honestly not much. I had a 47 on my essay last yr with a total score of 357 and I was not offered a spot or an alternate. I know someone who had one point more than me and they were an alternate and eventually offered a spot. Needless to say I was devestated to miss a spot by one point! They may go lower this yr. There is no way to tell. I wish you all good luck :)
