AHA has introduced a new course known as Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS). Most pediatric critical care providers take Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), but previously there was no intermediate course between BLS and PALS.
I'm just curious about whether school nurses had heard of PEARS and were planning to register for a course. Here's a link:

Good question-- you beat me to it!! I'm in the Milwaukee area, and the closest class to me is on the other side of Illinois.
I just left inpatient Peds and my PALS expires this fall-- How many of you school nurses maintain PALS certification?
PEARS actually sounds like a great program!
