If there is anyone currently in a monitoring program in ga can you share your consent requirements please , like how many years ? Do you have to check in everyday to see if you have to do a drug screen can you have alcohol ? Do you have to go to group meetings every week etc ?
How long do they usually keep people out of work? I am in TN and I applied for TNPAP. I now have a suboxone prescription from a a past issue but I got drug tested at work last Wednesday and I did not have a prescription at the time. I went the next day and got one. I have an evaluation in 2 days with an addiction medicine specialist and from my understanding she will give the recommendations but I don't know if they will make me stay out of work? I'm hoping they will let me go back to work and I can do whatever they need me to outpatient but it's going to be near impossible to do IOP or anything else god forbid they want me to do inpatient (I really don't think they will have me do that because I did not divert and I have been sober a year) but I'm worried they won't let me work/if I get fired from my job I don't know how I'll afford it. I'm terrified.

It all depends on the doctor. They're going to frown upon taking the suboxone without a current script. My addictionologist required me to have a hair strand test, so if there is anything that will show (not accusing, just being honest), be honest now with the doctor. I had 3 months of EAP, which helped. I was out of work for 3 months anyways, so not sure if they will make you stop working, etc.
A hair test is fine totally fine they can test me anyway they like. I have been sober a year from opiates but I was afraid to reach out and get help so I got suboxone from family. I know that's not right or okay, and I have a legit script now. But I'm extremely concerned about IOP cost if they want me to do that. I have no savings and I doubt my job will keep me. Even if they wanted to, from what I'm seeing TNPAP won't allow me to work potentially. I'm willing to do anything that's needed but money is a huge factor. I'll test every day if they wanted me to.

GA nurses, are you required to check in everyday? Do you have to attend therapy? I tell you what, this whole thing is BS. The board doesn't even try to see us as innocent. I've learned complaint = guilt. I had to spend thousands to hire a damn awesome lawyer who specializes in working with the board. I don't have my final consent order but we are on the 2nd version of it.I learned the sooner you hire a lawyer the better, I didn't know this and called 1 week before my order was due. He got me an extension then requested modifications to the consent order. Told me getting it dropped wasn't an option. But theres a big difference in the 2 versions. Not sure we can disagree and get other modifications but I'm going to try. It's so frustrating and stressful and honestly it's unfair that guilty is the only option. Good luck GA Nurses, my thoughts and prayers are with all.
