If you live in MD or VA you won't be able to get licensed in either state by going through Excelsior(without stipulations). I currently live in the Shenendoah Valley and am moving to NC before I finish this so I can become an RN. This is a great program if you have a plan. I had most of my prereqs out of the way when I started in the end of March. In less than two months I have managed to get six of the nursing theory exams completed and the only reason it isn't seven is because the testing center I use in Roanoke has been booked every day I've had off. This program has made something possible that wouldn't have been if I had to go back to a traditional program. If you live in VA or MD and you can consider relocating then I would highly recommend Excelsior, if you can't consider relocating then I would look at other options. Good Luck

Wow... that is impressive! I need a little...no, a LOT... of your motivation!
not sure it's motivation.....maybe obsession...not quite sure, either way the closer I get to the FCCA/CPNE I seem to be slowing myself down, having reasons(making excuses) to not study. Hopefully I get out of this funk soon.

To make it clear about Virginia:
Endorsement: Excelsior students who graduate after December 31, 2009 will be eligible for licensure endorsement with 960 hours of RN experience.
So licensure in Virginia going through Excelsior is quite possible. 960 hours works out to be a little bit over 6 months full time working. So, that could be at a neighboring state or a V(eterans)A hospital. Definitely a little bit of work-around, but doable.

I am in the DMV and I am very interested in the exclesior college AAS in nursing program. What hurdles have you endured trying to get thorough this program? I will hopefully finish my LPN in July and I want to go straight into my RN studies. I am also a military spouse so I do need something where there can't be any breaks in education.
Thanks
