I'm extremely confused as to which of my MSU courses transfer to different Nursing Schools such as UofM, UofD, Wayne, Oakland, NYC, UIC, etc. I did use the transfer list on each school's site but they're not entirely helpful. Help? :bluecry1:

Are you in MSU's nursing program already and are looking to transfer to another nursing program?

Or are you doing prereqs at MSU and are interested in applying to the listed colleges for nursing? If you have a little more info we might better be able to help you.

I'm not sure if you checked out this website, but it will show you what classes transfer where for any college in Michigan

I'm almost done with my prereqs at MSU but I'm applying to the listed Nursing Schools for the traditional BSN program.

I tried to get into MSU's traditional program for three application periods and never got in. I did complete all of my prerequisites for MSU's nursing program. I am now going to be finishing my bachelor's degree in psychology at MSU. I applied to UofD's accelerated program and got accepted I would have had to take a biochem and a ethics course before I could begin. I also applied to UofM's accelerated program and I am still waiting. If I go there I would have to also take biochem before starting and another FCE or psychology course. Also after being denied into the traditional program I have been accepted into MSU's accelerated program.

As far as some other schools go biochem is a big one that many schools require. Also the anatomy at state does not always transfer because it does not have a lab.

I looked at many schools to transfer too while I was denied and it is a very difficult process. I was not willing to leave and start more perquisites without a guarantee I would get into another schools program.

It is tough and I wish you all the luck, keep faith and something will happen.

Hey Parris, did you have to take Pharmacology (350) for when you applied to UofM and UofD? Or was Biochem the only extra class you needed? I'm thinking of taking both over the summer but I REALLY don't want to! And for the Biochem you took, did BMB 200 transfer from MSU?

Thanks!

hi gogreen 221,:D

i got admitted to both uofm & uofd (& possibly wsu) accelearated programs, i can only suggest going to their information meetings. i know they seem like they don't really matter, but they really make a difference. it is @ those meetings where they truely give u valuable info. alot of things on their website r inaccurate and alot of students don't apply soley based on what they see on the internet. the information meetings are also a great way to show ur face and let them know that u r interested, anything helps, all are very competative programs. most schools won't allow u to speak 2 a conselor until u have applied, just think of the amount of apps. that get reduced each year from people that don't take that extra step past the website. 9/10 the person giving the info. meeting has a valuable part in the program. uofd has no app. fee & they have a counselor that does everything step by step with u after u apply. i think uofm's is $40 & wsu's is $50. don't worry about the whole transfer credit thing, i think that is the least of ur worries. msu is a well respected university and for those classes they may not accept u can take a clep exam to meet those class requirements if urs are not accepted. apply, apply, apply, all they can tell u is yes/no, move on from there. don't b affraid of rejection, u will get into someone's program.

good luck & god bless :heartbeat

Yes, I had taken Pharmacology (350) before I applied to the accelerated program. I have not taken BMB 200 yet, I will do this the second half of the summer and it does transfer to UofM and UofD. Look at their website and it will show the classes you need and the transfer guide will will tell you what courses transfer from what schools. For UofM if the course is not listed they have it set up where you send in a transfer guide and they will tell if it transfers. You will need to do this before you apply anyway for courses not listed on their website.

Good luck
