Hi rntobe2010, I have just completed my prereqs at Michigan State University and am going to be taking another year to get a BS in Psychology. I was interested in applying afterwards to UofD's 2nd degree program. I have lots of volunteer experience in hospitals and also have a pretty good essay, and my GPA as of now is just under a 3.4... Do you have any suggestions on how I could make myself a more competitive candidate?

Hey Parris, did you have to take Pharmacology (350) for when you applied to UofM and UofD? Or was Biochem the only extra class you needed? I'm thinking of taking both over the summer but I REALLY don't want to! And for the Biochem you took, did BMB 200 transfer from MSU? Thanks!

Yeah I was looking into UofD or Wayne State too because I really do not want to move out of state. I spent about a month writing my essay so hopefully that wasn't the problem, but I guess I'll just have to work extra hard next yr to raise my GPA! Thanks for the reply :) -Jasmine

Hey Parris, I'm in the same situation as you were... my GPA is just below a 3.4 and I just applied to MSU's traditional program and did not get in. But I was planning on coming back for another year to get a BS in psychology too then I will apply to the Accelerated Program here. I was also thinking of applying to UofM's Accelerated Program as well. Did you apply anywhere else?? And do you have any suggestions for me to better my chances of becoming a more competitive applicant? Thanks!! Jasmine

I'm almost done with my prereqs at MSU but I'm applying to the listed Nursing Schools for the traditional BSN program.

I'm extremely confused as to which of my MSU courses transfer to different Nursing Schools such as UofM, UofD, Wayne, Oakland, NYC, UIC, etc. I did use the transfer list on each school's site but they're not entirely helpful. Help? -Jasmine
