Is Ameritech College a good program?

U.S.A. Utah

Published

Hello! I am currently attending Ameritech College in Draper, UT (semester 2.) Although I've heard mixed reviews about Ameritech (and all private schools for that matter), I found that it was the best option for me at the time. I will be greatly in dept afterwords and am just wondering if I will still be able to get a job easily once I graduate, and what the opinion of the school is in the Nursing community. If there are any other students or grads that could give me some feedback that would be great. Thanks!

Hello future nurses,

I see that there are no new reviews about Ameritech. I was accepted into ABSN but still don't know if this school is good. I'm from California, and our programs are so competitive. However, it was easy being accepted here. Please, share any information about this school. I don't want to waste my money and time.

Hello! I attended the online RN-BSN program. Started April 2018, finished March 2019. I did like the online program. Sorry I cant speak for the actual brick&mortar school. But ALL of the instructors were great in the online program! I can honestly say I learned a ton of new information which helped me expound on my associates degree level of nursing knowledge. The online RN-BSN is accredited via CCNE. I live in Ohio, and my job, and another hospital job I had, recognizes my BSN degree. The online program was ALOT of work, but very doable. I also encouraged one of my coworkers to attend the online program, and she finished in 1 yr, december 2020. Hope this helps and good luck.

Hello everyone it's been a while! Thanks for all your responses. Just an update, I graduated from Ameritech in 2012 with my associates and was able to find a job at a hospital soon after. As far as how the program went I was pleased with everything. Cant speak for how it's been since then. I ended up getting my BSN from Western Governors a few years ago and all my credits transferred fine. I'm still afraid if I tried to transfer to a traditional university they wouldn't have accepted all my credits but who knows, doesn't matter at this point. It is true that no one cares where you went to school, its all about having that piece of paper saying you have the degree. My work still hires Ameritech grads all the time and I know they even have a BSN program now which they didn't have at the time I went.

Did you end up attending the school? I’m considering but am unsure if it’s worth it…

Hi,

I denied the offer because this school doesn't have regional accreditation. In addition, this school provides only 517 clinical hours. I talked to other students from California, and they preferred other schools in Utah instead of Ameritech. I personally met with an advisor and had a tour. The school looks great. The simulation lab is awesome. However, California has strict requirements, and I didn't want to risk it.
