Hi Nurses,I live in Rockland County and i plan to work in the City(NYC) when i graduate, my question is, is it a good decision?? will transportation be a problem??? will i get to work on time always??? And also will i get home on time to rest cause i want to be working overtime. Please anyone with this experience please advice me. Thank you
sorry i meant overnight
I commute from NJ, and the trains were always pretty reliable, rain or shine. I drive now, since it saves me about an hour of travel time. The traffic at the GWB can be insane, but at the times we nurses show up for work, it's not too bad. It does depend on where you want to work in Manhattan. I work at NYP/Columbia, which is one turn off the GWB. If you want to work further downtown, public transportation may make more sense for you.....
If you can take the train do that. There's really no traffic on the trains so that'd probably be your best option. I would advise against driving into the city. There's always traffic, and the parking is way too expensive, which would make it silly. Public transportation is the way to go.
