thanks for the link. i am PRAYING, because i cant see myself getting rid of this phone. people say its just because of the 'cool' factor. but thats because they dont have one. its one of the most amazing toys....and the fact is, its NOT just a toy. its SO useful! im waiting till the LAST minute to get rid of it
I agree with you!!! I think my Iphone is AMAZING and I hope they get the software we need for school asap. I have been using my Iphone to watch all of the central line / a-line insertion videos on YouTube. I love having easy access to such study materials - sure makes waiting in line or at the doctors office a better use of time.
oh my gosh! this is darn near a disaster for me to hear this!!! i LOVE my iphone!!!!! it never leaves my side and i use it for EVERYTHING! and i mean everything. say it aint SO!!! i start in january of 09.....all i can do is pray they come out with some new software. but its not sounding promising :(
Happy, happy news for us iPhone junkies! The Typhon Group says you can now use an iPhone for patient documentation (if your program uses Typhon) and Sota Omogui's Anesthesia Drugs Handbook is now compatible with iPhone!

After much debating over a blackberry and iphone- I decided to go with the Iphone. Iphone now has a program- Isilo- it costs $10 and it is in the app store. After downloading the Isilo program you can then access Palm program which from what I understand greatly increases the amount of stuff to download.

May I suggest the ACTc by gasshead.com. I wish I had this application when I was in school. Also, skyscape has tons of anesthesia softwares you can use.
Enjoy your clinical rotation....
Skyscape now has programs for the Iphone and they are great! I am sooooo excited I get to keep my Iphone and still get all of the anesthesia software I want. Just go to Itunes and get your free Skyscape application and go from there.

I think its great. PDA funtionality growing everyday. Not to mention I have wonderful applications on it such as Netter's anatomy flashcards. Medmath calculator, ABG analyzer, unit convertor, Application that walks you through a rapid sequence induction based on patient weight and risks. List goes on. Very user friendly, great screen, etc. Awesome.

I am really to hear that Skyscape has now launched native applications. I just install the product on my iPhone and I am all set to access the products on my device anytime anywhere. They have amazing video on You Tube. It's a must see video:

So the Skyscape application in Itunes includes 4 free applications in it: Outlines in Clinical Medicine®, Archimedes™ - Medical Calculator, RxDrugs™: Drug Dosing Tool and MedAlert™. They do not do a good job in telling you that the rest of the resources are only accessible the same way there were on the 1st generation Iphone, by web access. So that's why there is still a yearly subscription cost. I have read in multiple places that all of their resources will be available for actual download "soon". I've been keeping a pretty close eye on it so when they start becoming available I'll post something. The free applications are pretty impressive so I think the resources to come will follow suit.

I can barely describe how completely infuriated I am with Skyscape on the iPhone issue. The fact that they are fleecing a single group of customers for yearly money boils my blood. I was VERY excited to see that they finally had downloadable applications in the iTunes store, but was shocked to see that they STILL expected to be paid yearly for web-based programs. Appalling. No other smartphone users have to pay this premium. I have written to them, I suggest you do the same. If enough customers complain, perhaps they will do something about it.
I'm currently running six Skyscape programs on my Palm Centro. I was even willing to purchase them all again (they will not transfer registration across platforms. Jerks.) so that I could have an iPhone. Alas, Skyscape will not be seeing that money anytime soon.
What I really want is for someone to write a PalmOS reader for the G1. It's a better phone anyway.
Grrrrr...
