Just curious about something...I know a mom due in July. She has a previous T incision, it does extend a bit into her fundus apparently. Her doctor wanted to section her at 36 weeks because he didn't want her going into labor. She refused and is instead being made to move into the hospital (well they have a hotel where she will be staying right next to the hospital), and she will be sectioned at just shy of 39 weeks.

Where I work, we don't do this for people with these types of incisions. They get sectioned at 38-39 weeks like every other RCS. It seems her doctor is being waaaaaay over cautious...but am I missing something here??? What do you guys do??

What pregnancy is this for her?

We don't do this either. They get repeat sectioned just like everybody else.

Repeat at 38-39 or on onset of labor. Only thing I can think is if she is *maybe* a grand multip?

Does she have a history of preterm labor or previous early deliveries? Live a long way from the hospital?

This is baby #3, and she doesn't live that far from the hospital :-)

they did this for me too. I was sectioned at 36 weeks, but I have had 3 early babies, a cerlages x 2 and the inverted T incision. I have incomp cervix, didn't know that with my first one and had him at 26 weeks, he passed away at 2 days old. My second. I got the stitch and he didn't want me to go into labor b/c of the incision from the first. I started to go into labor with him at 32 weeks so they got him out quickly. With my third, Again I got the stitch and ended up being in the hospital from 29 weeks until I delievered at 36. I have a strong hx of preterm labor as well (obvioulsy:) I know that with the history of inverted T and 3 c sections there was a real risk of uterine rupture. My ob was concerned. Needess to say, I had my tubes tied after my third. I would just rather my doctor be cautious.
