How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.
Care to share?

Hi
I'm Michi ..31 yr old, mother. Went back to school 1 year after having my daughter as a single parent...took me 3 years and change to get my A.S in pre-Nursing this summer, but faith, hardwork and determination paid off. Got accepted into an A.S.N program starting Jan 08 (Yeyyy:lol2:yyyy). This is something that I have yearned to do. I am so proud and excited to finally be on my way!!!! GOOD LUCK to all of us!

Hi, I'm 24-yrs old and will graduate with a BSN this Fall I WILL one day be in administration level and make great changes for the nursing profession in California.
I want to be a nurse advocate and a voice for nurses in the political arena.
With experience in time, the sky's the limit. To be a consumer of research is expected of all nurses, but to actually want to be a part of that change is where I hope to be.
In present time, I am aiming to work in the ICU, Med-Surg, or OR.
Nursing education and nursing profession is controversial in context of where it is currently heading and why it is currently heading that way. I won't say anything further, but GOOD LUCK to everyone and I hope to learn a lot from you all and share in my experiences with you too. :1luvu::thankya:
Hi Everyone! I just found this discussion board today and I'm already addicted! I'm 26 years old and have recently decided to make a career change to nursing. I have a BS and MS degree in Accounting and have worked in the field for 3 years. I'm still making final decisions between an ASN or BSN acclerated program. Either way I will start my pre-reqs in Jan or May of 08. Very excited for this journey! Nice to meet all of you.

Hey! I'm Laura, I'm 22, and just started working on my BSN in September 07. I couldn't be more excited, I've been waiting to start nursing school since I was 16, and now I'm doing it! My friends get annoyed since I make them let me practice everything they show us on them.
