Sometimes districts are slow as syrup. Maybe send her a thank you card and that you are looking forward to discussing more about the position - or something to that effect that sounds better. My school district and the public health job I interviewed for loved the human touch. Hang in there.

Hi all! I went to my first school nurse interview today. I had spent several hours reviewing the interview suggestions yesterday so I thought I was well prepared. It turns out I needn't worry! I just interviewed with the nursing administrator for the district (I liked her and got a good impression), but she really didn't ask me any questions about myself and my experience like I was expecting. She basically talked the whole time, telling me about the school system, the pluses and minuses. I did give her my opinion on a few things in regards to teachers sending kids to the nurse because they were tired of them (I said something along the lines of needing to communicate whats going on with the teacher), a little about teen pregnancy, and we talked a little about its a teachers contract, and salary (not actual numbers) and benefits of the position. She did make a couple comments that I might be reading a little into like "the nurse you will be replacing", and talking about me getting certified and if it needed to be expedited (district has to request) and to call her after I went to the state department (which I did and she was very cordial). Then she finished the interview (about an hour) with she had a few more interviews and would get back to me. I asked when would I expect to hear from her and she said they would be making a decision in the next few days, to which I replied I could start jan 7th. She stated as long as the certificate came through. She did mention at the end that several people are retiring and to make sure I keep my application updated as well. There was another gal waiting after I finished.
I totally expected a panel and what if questions, but none were asked :-(. So if you made it through, what do you ladies think? I went ahead and did the certification and fingerprint thing, did I waste my money? Its good for five years.
Thanks so much!
