* Name a conflict situation at work and how did you handle it?

* What do you consider your weaknesses/challenges? (I always get stuck on this questions and unsure of how to answer it)

* What you consider you strengths?

And feel free to add in other questions you've been asked in interviews as well. I'm asking because I have interviews coming up and want everyone's input of how you would answer these questions.

before i decided i wanted to be a nurse i was an it recruiter---i conducted probably thousands of interviews.

the question that gives most people trouble is the what do you consider your weaknesses/challenges? (i always get stuck on this questions and unsure of how to answer it) every one has a weakness and we really do want to hear what it is...for me, my weakness is organization, or poor handwriting, or documentation. so what ever yours is, say it. then truely try and improve on it. as when it comes time to get your 6month review you can then show them you have improved. but please dont say something like "my desire to acheive perfection" or something that will cause me to silently vomit in my mouth...

same advice for the other questions---you can never go wrong with the truth. conflict we have all had them, how have you overcome? strengths--good communicator, or always on time. every one has strengths think of what it is people have told you they like about you before.

dont sweat too much on the interview. honestly with in the 1st 5 min the mgr will know if they are going to hire you or not. dress nice, easy on the scents, dont smoke or eat doritos before the interview. make eye contact, smile, and say something nice about the facility "wow your hallways are so spaciouse"--"gee your work stations are huge"--people like to hear compliments.

best of luck!!!

If there's a personal photograph displayed please do comment on it. People love to talk about their pets, children, garden, etc.

My interview was very low key...no "tell me about your weakness" comments at all.

For my weaknesses I do say I'm a bit of a perfectionist and it stresses me out - and that I expect myself to function as an experienced nurse when I'm not. It's true.. and it DOES stress me out.

I had an interview last night and they asked me about how I dealt w/ an ethical dilemma.. I had a patient that had an ethics committee mtg, but I didn't get to go and I didn't deal with the family (they came during the day only) .. so it was like I answered their question without really answering it. It was odd..
