Interview while in orientation.. NEED ADVICE!!

Published

I work an hour away from home and I am still in orientation. Got an interview for a job 15 min away from home. How do I disclose my new job during my interview? I feel like I should as I want to be 100% honest. I just don’t know how to go about it because I’m still in the orientation phase. Any advice on how to bring it up?

You don't. End of story. It isn't appropriate until you have a job offer on the table. Then you let them know you need to give notice where you are at now. Talking about this ahead of time doesn't make any sense.

You will be burning a bridge if you accept the new job, pretty much. Don't mention you're at the new job or in orientation. If I were the interviewer, I would instantly stop listening to you and wonder who is up next on the interview list or where will I be going for lunch today.

As Nurse SMS mentioned, if you do get the new job, give proper notice right away to the old one, but chances are you'll be shown the door right away since you're still on orientation.
