Interview next week....UM/UR

Hi all, I have an interview coming up for a CM position in the compliant documentation management dept. I am figuring that this will be similar to utilization management.

What type of questions should I ask?

Of course I would ask about the training because I only have clinical/bedside experience.

Specializes in ED, ICU, MS/MT, PCU, CM, House Sup, Frontline mgr.
Well I did end up getting the job and start next month. My title is Case Manager RN lol. The other traditional case managers are also managed by the same director.

Are there other RNs like you doing your job? If not, when your department is short staffed you will probably be taken from your normal duties and responsibilities to cover the traditional case managers. Thus, be sure to get the training to do that job as well while on orientation.

Yes, there are 4 or 5 of us plus a lead specialist. I'd love to cross train but I think this will be quite intense from what I've been told.
