Interview Jitters!

Hello Psych Nurses!!

I am graduating nursing school in 12 days (but who's counting :D) and I have an interview tomorrow for a nursing position on a behavioral healt unit at a local hospital. I didn't have much experience in school as far as clinical time on a unit, but I know mental health nursing is where my heart is.I am motivated to learn and excited to gain more experience and knowledge in this specialty, but I don't want to bomb my interview!! Any help?!? :uhoh3:

THANKS!

I would suggest you base your interview session and answers on this. This is who you are and this is what Employers are looking for.

Good luck to you in your interview, CLN 15.

Dave

I agree with Dave. Employers know new nurses didn't get much psych experience during clinicals. Your best bet is to shine in attitude and motivation, even though you can't in experience.

I've never been a hiring manager in nursing, but I think honesty is important. Tell them just what you told us. Your enthusiasm will show. Good luck with your interview and your journey in psych nursing:)
