I have my first interview for a psych position. The position of my dreams. I went to nursing school to be a psych nurse. I loved my psych rotation. Here is the question: How different is this interview going to be than an interview for a med-surg job? I graduated in May 2009, but have yet to work as a nurse. I was awarded a scholarship to work on my bachelor's degree and have been doing that since July of 09 (I had a few pre reqs to finish and started the BSN program in January. Please just give me an idea of what the questions will be like so I can feel a little prepared. I really want this job.

Hi, I just had an interview at a psych hospital. I think it varies between each institution, but with my interview, I got asked basic scenario-type questions about boundaries, etc. They wanted to know a little bit about my background and if I've committed any crimes... Nothing different from my med/surg interviews. I hope this kind of helps! Good luck and I hope you OWN it.
Best wishes,
J.
Thanks! I had the interview wed. and got a job offer. I am just waiting on the background check to come through now. If everything comes back ok, I start June 7th.
Awesome! Congratulations. :) Hmmm... Would you happen to be in Colorado? If so... I am too!

So, spill! What was the interview like, what questions were you asked? I am going on one today and I will spill, but if I get any hints from others before that happens, I'd be ever so grateful.
