I had a two panel interview. No scenario questions. The first panel was with the Night Manager and the Day manager. The second panel was with four nurses that work on the unit. They asked more insight type questions to try to find out what type of person I was and how I would handle working in the ER. Good luck.
thanks sbryramrn. what types of insight questions did they ask? can you give me an example or two? i'm going to spend some time digging around online to see what i can find for prep. i haven't interveiwed for a job in over a decade! lol! (been at home with kiddos : )
Lets see:

Tell us about a difficult time in your life and how you got through it.
Tell us how you handle stress on the job
Tell us about your volunteer positions you have held (which were on my resume)
Tell us about a group project you did in nursing school and what role you played in that project

Sample questions that I was asked for a large hospital system for a critical care position...
1. You are a nurse of a pt status post abd surgery. You notice that thier BP is 80/40 and their HR is 150. What is going on? What orders would you expect? (Fulids wide open, H&H, Notify Dr., prep for transfusion, check wound for bleeding, etc)
2. You go in a check on a pt that was A&Ox3 3 hours ago. They are now confused, aggitated etc. What would you do? (Check blood sugar).
Just remember your basics. Airway, Breathing, Circulation!
Ask them...
1. What is the start date of this position?
2. How is scheduling done here? Are weekends required? Is it a rotating schedule, or a set schedule?
Be honest about your wishes. If you would desire somthing, let them know, however, let them know you are flexible and are willing to make whatever work.
