Are there any travel nursing agencies who instead assigns nurses to other countries instead of states?? I think that that would be an awesome opportunity (well depending on the country you're assigned to, of course!), b/c I love to travel! Please holler back!

I have a book titled "Hitting the Road: A guide to Travel Nursing" and in the back of the book it has pages of travel companies for the US and overseas. If you can find it in your local bookstore, you might want to check it out.

This is a very helpful site and thread! I've enrolled to take some pre-requisite classes to get my BSN. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer and am getting tired of sitting still again. I don't know whether to call it a mid-life crisis or a career change!

Will there be any travel agencies that will pay or reimburse airfare from the Philippines to CA? What if it's frequent but short term asiignments (4-8 wks)?

Sorry but no. They will pay for your transportation once you are in the US, after you arrive at your initial port of entry. They will not pay for international travel for you to work in the US.
Are you an Amercian citizen? If not, you still need to go thru the process of getting a green card to be able to work here.

A good way to start is to use the internet. Sit down with a pen and paper and "google" the words travel nursing. You will have quite a few options to choose from. That's the way I did it. Good look!
