International Student interested in a 2 year ADN program

Hi there am new to the site,it seem theres alot of help on here for finding out the right school to purse a nursing program,so here I go.

I am interested in finding a school in the NY area in any of the 5 boro. I am from the caribbean,I will be applying with my secondary transcripts or you may know it as High school transcripts.I DONT HAVE A GPA,because of I didnt finish college and I Am 23.

I feel like because of my situation I will not get into a school in NY because of that,I really would like to go to BMCC /CUNY but my grades will not allow it.

Can you give some private school that offer a 2 year program for an ADN.

Also am open to schools in NJ as well.

Hey there...

By International Student, do you mean you are not a resident alien (green card holder)? Most schools now require you have one to be accepted. I was told that it was because they had problems with undocumented students before. Also, most schools has pre requisite classes. Nursing programs, whether 2 yr or the BSN, requires either A&P 1 or both 1 and 2, English Composition and General Psychology. I dont think you'll have a problem getting into BMCC as a Liberal Arts student to take the pre requisites. Talk to an Academic Advisor and they'll be able to answer most of your questions and how you can go about in starting your trekk towards a Nursing degree.

Thank you very much for answering me,Yes i do not have a green card,I have student visa.And are you saying if I apply to one of the cuny schools,I should apply as a liberal arts student. What about applying to private school like Touro. Once again thanks for your help.
