Delegation on Nursing. Has anyone received an invitation to this??

Okay, I got my second letter yesterday... I had put it out of my mind... but now I am really thinking about it. I want to go into community health and I have always had a transcultural emphasis. Also, last year I was able to go on a trip to Mololkai to Kalaupapa, the area which was where the Hansen's disease patients were exiled. While I was there I had this overwhelming feeling like I would do something with HIV/AIDS. I'm going to bring it up again to my hubby and see what he thinks.

I gave up Starbuck's for new year... that should save me about $20 a week! I could start my fund there! :rotfl:

Hubby went for it! He said he thought it was an honor and if I could finagle it, I should go! I'm working on funding and he's faxing the application! Anyone else going to go? I'm so excited!!!

:balloons:

I got an invitation today, mine didn't say to the parents of...but I did e-mail the dean to ask if she heard of the trip and am waiting for a response, it sounds amazing. Did everyone get the same date and price, I think if we all share that info it might prove or disprove how valid it is.

My invite states two travel options are available:

May 25-June 4 (with the flight leaving 2 days prior) for $5290 OR

May 25-June 7 for 5290+1670 for the add-on days

Both trips have an optional $149 travel protection plan

They want a down payment by Feb 20 of $500 04 $649 w/protection plan

I googled it and found some med students who say it is a trip of a lifetime but I am still skeptical. i am 28 with a hubby and 2 kids so it would be tought to swing but Africa sounds amazing. I am hoping if it is legit that my school would help pay for it.

I hope to hear from others!
