I graduated Bachelor of science nursing in the Philippines, but i dont have a license yet, right now I'm in california with my family, i want to take an nclex exam, but I'm confuse which one i should take the nclex-rn or nclex-lvn, i already have all my school documents evaluated and result of the evaluation is "she graduated with the degree bachelor of science in nursing which is equivalent to a U.S Bachelors degree in the same discipline, from a regionally acredited university". Ived check the internet regarding some problems if your a philippine graduate and want to take CA BON nclex exam, and im afraid they will tell me to enroll again or to take some subjects..what will i do?? can someone help me or guide me??? thank you so much..

Call the California Board of Nursing and ask them your questions.

The issue with California is concurrency so if your clinical and theory hours where done at the same time and you can prove it you shouldn't have issues.

Hello. While reading your post, I can sense that you're a recent graduate from the Philippines. Most of the recent PH grads are not affected. I know somebody who graduated his BSN last 2015 and he was not required to take up courses. However, his batchmate was required to take up Med-Surg. There's a less percentage now that recent PH grads are highly required to take up these course because the nursing curriculum in the Philippines was being changed after knowing about the concurrency issue here in California. My suggestion is just apply for the NCLEX-RN first from the BRN in order for you to know whether you will be required to take courses or not. There's a huge precentage that you won't be required, but there's also a bit of percentage that you will be. And after that, then you can apply for the NCLEX-PN from the BVNPT.

Continuation... After applying from the BRN, then you will know whether you'll have to apply from the BVNPT or not. Good luck.
