You will need to go home and apply from there. There are no working visas, only immigrant visas/green cards. They are not available at the moment. If you don't even have approval to take the NCLEX exam, Vermont are taking 3-4 months after receiving your documents.

Not sure how you can take NCLEX if you haven't registered with a BON. As previously mentioned there is no visas currently so therefore your tourist visa is of no use at present so will have to return home and start the process from there and wait for retrogression to lift. This does not mean you can't try to find an employer

you dont need to work in vermont... the problem is no hospital will take you as of the moment because of the on going retrogression... but you can still try... goodluck on your exam... i also took nclex for the state of vermont... i had it endorsed to california immediately after getting my license

If they are taking the NCLEX this week, they have registered, they did it thru Vermont.

Now to the original quesation:

Sorry, but there is a retrogression going on right now, you are unable to get any type of visa that will permit you to work. You are going to need to go home and go thru consular processing as the AOS, Adjustment of Status, route is currently unavailable to you, and will be for some time. Definitely past the stay permitted on your visa. And the worst thing that you can possibly do is apply for an extension without a really valid reason, and waiting for the retrogression to lift is not acceptable.

Your petitions needed to have been submitted before the end of October, so now you are out of luck. You should have checked into this before coming to the US.

If you just got here you can just pray that visas will be available for the next six months but for now nothing can be done. Good luck on your exam.

thanks suzanne for the info.
