International Nurse Graduate (RN)seeking job!!!

I have moved your thread as you will get much more response from this forum. I also deleted your other thread as it was an exact duplicate of this one, and you had placed it in the same forum. :)

Now for your question. What type of visa are you currently on? Unless you are already on a green card, there isn't going to be anything that you can do legally. You need to have a visa that permits you to work.

Please advise on what your status is first. and Welcome to Allnurses.com. :)

hi and hello!!! i graduated in the philippines also and took the nclex-rn last dec...i passed the first time i took it but it was really really nerve wrecking especially waiting for the result....i didnt bother to look for a job while reviewing because i really wanted to concentrate on my review. i had a difficulty in applying for jobs because I graduated 2000 and i havent worked as nurse in the philippines. i tried applying in a long term care facility, a walk in application, and right away i had a tour and an interview with the DON. i tried another facility, the same...as long as you can prove you're legal to work here in the US. Its not really my choice to work in a LTC facility but better than nothing.

Hi there!!!Tnx for replying!I graduated 2002 at Northwestern Univ in ILocos how about u?After I graduate i was immediately hired to work as Staff Nurse and also a Trainer and Clinical Instructor at a Caregiver School in the Phil.I was petitioned here by my Dad and Im already a Legal Permant Resident here.I am kinda curious about which jobs to take coz it seems lyk evry job needs a license.lyk r we allowed to work as Nurses Aide here???Well ,anyweiz i am preparing 4 d processing of my NCLEX exam here, How long does it take for u to receive the notice that ur eligible for exam???Some say that it will take 4 months?is that right???Is the exam hard???Did u take the Rn exam in our country???Thanx for ur tym on reading my message!!!Take Care and Hope to hear from u soon!and i do hope ud b my friend!Im chaz, 23, F, San Fran bout u???

Thank you !I really aprreciate ur kindness!I am a legal Permanent Resident here, my Dad petitioned me.Just arrived here a month ago.ANd yes I am allowed to work here.I would really want to work while reviewing for my NCLEX exam.Can u please tell me what jobs do i qualify for???I want to work in a hospital even not as an RN coz i know for me to be able to practice my profession here i need to have my CA license.And also I would like to have my specialization.Is it possible for me to have a specialization in Nursing even if i havent take the NCLEX exam???I would really want to broaden my skills and have continue education.I am 23 years old and graduated in 2002 I have experiences working as a Staff NUrse and Trainer at a Caregiver School in the Philippines.I am really determined and driven to grow in my Nursing Profession.Just like u, I want to have a specialization in Med Surg Nsg.Tnx for finding time to read my message!!!TAke Care and hope to hear from u soon!!! :)
